Introduction

The client needed a streamlined and secure solution for managing identities and access within their Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID) environment. The project focused on establishing an organized system to manage users, groups, and enforce password policies to improve operational efficiency and security. This implementation ensures only authorized users gain the right level of access to Azure resources, laying the foundation for a secure and scalable identity management framework.

1. Creating a New Microsoft Entra Tenant

To begin managing users and groups in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), I first needed to create a new tenant. I signed in to the Azure portal as [email protected] using the password examplepass.

After signing in, I followed these steps to create a new Microsoft Entra tenant:

1. Access Microsoft Entra ID:

• On the Azure portal menu, I selected Microsoft Entra ID.

  

1. Start Creating a New Tenant:

• On the Cloudslice Overview page, I selected Manage Tenants from the command bar.
• On the Manage Tenants page, I clicked + Create to begin the tenant creation process.

1. Configure the Tenant:

• On the Create a Tenant blade:
  • In the Basics page under Tenant Type, I ensured that Microsoft Entra ID was selected.
  • I then clicked Next: Configuration.
• On the Configuration page:
  • For the Organisation Name, I entered Example-Company.
  • For the Initial Domain Name, I entered Example-Domain.
• I reviewed the configuration and clicked Review + Create.
